MEMORIES IN A BOX
(An answer to Doanne’s “Inside my Memory Box")

What if everything that have passed into our life will be kept in a box? What if every cloth that we have used in wiping our tears and for the counsel of others are all to be gathered in a box? What if memories in our lives are to be placed in a box? Those were just some of the silly questions that I have once asked myself. Those questions were I thought of all joke and it cannot be answered seriously. Back in my elementary years, I can remember how I deeply treasure things that were given by my classmate. That strange characteristic of mine, awaken me to the truth that not al people are given by that chance to put value in a person’s gift for you. It was in my high school years when I started to officially call my collection in a certain place as my “memories in a box”. I have learned to value things more, more than just its composition or price. When I started to place my things in a box,I did also started to segregate them. Literally, I segregate them because I want to keep my memory box as a real memory box, not a trash can. So what’s inside my memory box? Well, here are some of the things in my box that did really made a memory.

1. NAME TAGS
I have always been an active club member and I also love to join seminars and conferences. And every time I joined to such activities, a name tag will always come with it. I keep my name tags because they remind me of the activities that I have attended.
2. LETTERS
I love to keep letters because time will come that when you will read them months or years from now, you will be reminded by how that person who gave the letter, felt about you at those times. I always do that one, and it is actually very fun, sometimes you cannot help but laugh for you will realize that each year you are really growing.
3.CANDY WRAPPERS
Keeping candy wrappers in my box was such a big challenge for me, because these things are small and I don not want my box to look messy. But I just can’t help myself but feel so special every time a person who is not close to me will give me a candy. It’s really a surprise for who do not know me that I love to ask candy from them because I want them to be a part in my memory. I want to be reminded that he had been my friend.
4.STATISTICS BOOK
This is the only book that I have kept in my memory box. Same as this is the only book that I will never forget in my entire life. That book did really made a special part in my life. Why? Well, people know that I am really an intellectually challenged person in the field of Mathematics. But during my Junior years, I felt different in my Math subject. That math subject was the only math that I have learned to love because I have understood that course. The book is that special for me.
5. DIARY
If there is one thing that I value most in my box, that would be my first accomplished diary. I love to take note to everything that had happened to me. Just like letters they will remind you of your feelings in the past. It is actually good to keep a diary because we can never turn back time and that all that we can do is to reminisce it.

Those were just some of the things that you will find in my memory box. There are still a lot inside it, but keeping them in secret is my choice. So, you, why don’t you try having a memory box? Just try it! I swear it’s fun.
